The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to go up 3-0 on Sunday in the Western Conference Finals. In games one and two the Lakers dominated the Suns, scoring over 120 points in each game. Their point total from games one is two is the most in the first two games of a Western Conference Finals in 20 years. If the Suns want to win they have to play better defense. The Lakers size is hard for the Suns to contain.
Amare Stoudemire needs to step his game up and make it so the Lakers need to double him. If he does that, the Suns will get a lot of open threes and will probably sink them. Channing Frye has not hit any of his threes, but look for him to shoot better with his home crowd behind him. Kind of like what James Harden did in the first series. He was shooting horribly at Staples but in game three he was one of the reasons why the Thunder killed the Lakers. It is important for the Lakers to not let the Suns have open threes and to win game three. This is the most important game of the series, and if the Lakers win they could be looking at a sweep. The Lakers are a older team than the Suns and i think the rest between game three and two will help them a lot. Kobe will have fresh legs and fisher will have a lot of energy to guard Steve Nash. But if Kobe shoots horribly and Steve Nash plays like a two time MVP that he is, the Suns have a good chance at game three.
